Reverend Nischal was born and raised in Kollegal, Mysore District, Karnataka in southern India.  In 1998, he completed a Bachelor of Divinity, B.D. at Lutheran Theological College, India, and spent three years as a pastor in two local Lutheran congregations (“Christ the King Lutheran Church” in Mysore and “Pilgrim Lutheran Church” in Bangalore).  While working in Bangalore, he obtained a master’s degree in missions at the United Theological College.  In 2003, he came to the United States to continue studies at the Lutheran Theological Seminary located in Philadelphia, PA, and also at Fort Wayne Theological Seminary in Indiana.  He worked with the Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries as a mission representative to the immigrant communities at large and served as a full-time pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in that city.

A Quote from Paster Nischal

“Together with the Lutheran Church families in the DWF area, we are now working as co-laborers of Christ in missions. The Lord led me and my family, according to His Grace, here to the United States 19 years ago.  Over these years I have gained advanced degrees in mission studies while working outreach ministries on the East Coast. For the past 19 years, I'm working as an associate pastor and as a Mission pastor in several congregations.”
